WEIRD SPACE
GAU LIGHTING PARIS created a timeless lighting scheme for this contemporary black-and-white space, combining adapted LASIPALO pendants and matching wall lights to deliver a bold visual identity within a carefully managed budget.
Defined by a contemporary black-and-white aesthetic, this space makes a strong graphic statement. Clean lines and striking contrasts create an atmosphere that feels both modern and timeless. Designed to appeal to a young, international clientele, it embraces a cosmopolitan spirit that is welcoming, accessible and distinctly contemporary. Working within a carefully managed budget, the challenge was to create a cohesive lighting scheme with universal appeal and enduring style, giving the space a distinctive identity without relying on passing trends. To achieve this, GAU LIGHTING PARIS adapted its LASIPALO pendant light, from the Café Collection, adjusting its height to suit the proportions of the interior. The purity of its spherical glass globes introduces a sense of softness and balance, complementing the bold graphic character of the décor. The manufacture also crafted a spectacular chandelier featuring 15 glass globes, conceived as the centrepiece of the project. At the client's request, the same design was reimagined as a wall light, creating a consistent visual language throughout the different spaces. The project showcases GAU LIGHTING PARIS's expertise in bespoke lighting design, demonstrating how simple forms, strong visual identity and manufacturing expertise can come together to create a distinctive lighting concept while respecting the project's budget.
